The climate and form of the land make the province of Treviso an ideal place for cycling and one of the most popular areas among enthusiasts of this sport. There is something for everyone: competitive teams, amateurs and cycle tourists, whether they are looking for training, fun or sports holidays. To satisfy all requirements, routes with a variety of technical characteristics have been created. They all take in interesting landscapes and historical sites.
These routes range from the plain to the hills, with slopes of varying steepness. Cyclists can choose from a number of options depending on their level of fitness. The roads are surfaced and are mainly minor routes with little traffic. It is possible to follow them on road bikes, as well as suitable city bikes and mountain bikes with road wheels. They are practicable all year round, but spring is the best season due to the mild weather. From the straights, bends, climbs and descents, you will be able to admire the breathtaking views and discover the wonders of the area, on trips that will offer delights for all five senses.
More expert cyclists with better fitness levels can put themselves to the test on more complex routes such as the climb of Monte Grappa, with gradients of 8% to 10% on the way up to the top, which offers marvellous views stretching as far as the Venetian lagoon. Alternatively there is the Pianezze, which is very demanding and goes between the Tomba and Milièr mountains. There is also the Cansiglio, which goes from Montello, passing through Vittorio Veneto and Valdobbiadene on the way. These routes are all designed to make the most of the free time of all cycling enthusiasts.
